Many of us have learned to separate our thinking self from our feeling self. When this happens we can lose the ability to self-reference. This has a physiological face to it. When we lose the ability to know the self from within, it is reflected in our neurology which creates lasting habits and can feel like an ungrounded way of being. In my research, this was called othering the self. Othering the self can show up in many kinds of ways that can be pernicious and undermining of moving forward in our lives. Through my research on eating disorders and embodiment I found a framework that helped me understand this dynamic, and that I'm sharing in this program.

I am thrilled to be offering this supported by my co-facilitators Meghan and Cheyanne. Findings from my research along with evidence based theoretical constructs and interventions from poly-vagal theory, heuristic self-search inquiry, contemporary neuropsychology, and coaching psychology inform the curriculum.

What To Expect

All sessions will be recorded and will be available in your course shell.

This will be a safe, courageous space for personal growth, healing, and cultivating the unseen connective tissue that flows between us. This is something I have dreamed of offering for several years. It started with researching medical trauma and healing from my own head injury in 2019. That led me to noticing other blocks I was experiencing that were showing up in my body but also had deep emotional roots. This became my research and is the heartbeat of the yoga and coaching work I do.

Details

Sessions are 75-90 minutes, and will consist of an overview of the agenda, a presentation, an experiential component, time for reflections and questions, and then a closing. All sessions are facilitated by Katie Cooley, Meghan Scanlon, and Cheyanne Mackay. Due to the sensitive nature of this work, Katie and her team will be available after each session if anyone is in need of extra support. The cohort will be run once a season and is recommended for anyone going through a life transition or needing support. Please note that although these practices may be therapeutic all of the materials are designed to educate and inform, not to diagnose or treat medical conditions.

Please register confidently, as refunds are available in the form of credit, rather than cash. Space is limited.
